Hello, my name is Sarah, I'm 28 years old from Lincolnshire, United Kingdom. I'm happily married and have a baby on the way.

The idea for OhMyFelt came to me during my honeymoon in June 2013. I made my own bouquet for my wedding using old brooches, pendants and white foam flowers. I made my save the dates, invitations, thank you cards, table numbers and sweetie wedding favors. I really enjoyed being back in creative mode and when my wedding was over I realised that I needed to continue. During my wedding many of my guests commented on how lovely my bouquet was, I even got asked to create one for a friend’s wedding. So that was where the original idea for OhMyFelt began. Felt flowers to create wedding bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres. I set up my online shop and opened my own blog, before I knew it I had sold my first 5 bouquets. I hate wasting fabric and started creating felt craft kits with the remaining felt from the wedding bouquets. Customers began asking me for custom made kits in their selected colours and sizes so they could create their own bouquets, flowers and felt creations. I started receiving larger orders from businesses and schools and soon began to realise what worked and what didn’t.


This change of direction came at about the same time I found out I was expecting my first child at Christmas 2013. Working full time and being pregnant proved to be hard work. Tiredness took over and I didn’t have the time to take on more custom orders for felt wedding bouquets. However the felt craft kits could be premade and posted out the next day. I stocked my shop with a range of kits and started to sell buttons, findings and other craft accessories. The process was trial and error, some products sell better than others. I am on a constant learning experience.


I am going to take some maternity leave at the end of July 2014, I am not sure how long but I know I will be back. The experience I have gained over the past year has given me a wealth of ideas and inspiration. I plan to create kits that can be purchased over and over again. Plus I want to make custom orders easy for the customer so they can receive exactly what they need.


This isn’t just about making money for me, I LOVE CRAFTING. Whether it is sewing, writing, cooking, baking, dancing or playing instruments. If there is a creative element then I have a genuine interest. I also love felt. I think it is a fantastic versatile fabric that has many uses. I hope my customers enjoy using their felt to make lovely things and love to see what you create. So please please please share your creations :D
